It's impossible to talk about this film without talking about Coherence. The Invitation is a single set film about the most awkward dinner party ever.
The sense that something is wrong is immediate and doesn't let up until the climax. Overall, I enjoyed it, even if it didn't really do anything new. The ensemble was good, but unlike Coherence, they weren't real enough.
You knew you were looking at...victims as opposed to Coherence where you genuinely grew with the characters and lived in their fear. Worth a watch for sure, though.
